Reflections

              on the Journey

August

Prayers / Thoughts

During this month of August I hope that you will find some leisure time to be alone with the Lord. I also invite you to reflect on what worries you, what makes you afraid, what keeps you from mobilizing and using your giftedness and from sharing all that you are with others. When you find yourself feeling anxious or troubled or worried, pause to hear God saying to you, as was said so reassuringly and so often to the disciples,

"Do not be Afraid, I am with you."

May God bless your worrisome heart and help you to be less fearful, more free, and more peaceful this month.

Jesus came and stood among them. He said to them, "Peace be with you."

John 20:19

Jesus, you stand before me.
I feel it in my heart.
I sense you saying to me:

Peace be with you,
     in your busy days.
amid your feeling pull in all directions.
          within your loneliness.
            with your concern of others.
                among those you care for.
                   around your many questions.

Peace, peace be with you,
for I am here. I am with you.
I offer you peace, my peace.
Believe in me and my offer.

I will take you far beyond
all the fears, all the worries.
I will sink your spirit in calm,
in quiet, in truth, in me.

Rest in me. Rest in me.
                   Peace be with you.
